What I Learned From College - Round 1

- how to segue from someone's presentation into my own
- how to compare and contrast readings I barely understand
- how to write 4 1/2 pages in 6 hours
- that I have no idea where I will end up in five years, even if I've planned out the next twenty
- that random kid from your seminar can become your best friend
- the rest of said seminar class you may never see again
- teachers get stressed out, too
- extra effort gets you extras, like references or lenient grading
- there are an infinite number of opportunities, if you only look
- there is always someone who will give you a hug; sometimes you have to ask
- people think and live and see differently
- sometimes you need Mom or Dad
- some people in college don't belong in college
- your roommate may love you or hate you
- there is a world outside your campus, even if you never leave it
- teachers want to you to succeed
- some will help more than others
- asking questions gets you answers
- asking the right person the right questions gets you the best answers
- to remain sane, don't procrastinate too much, remember to eat and sleep, and say "Hi!" to a friendly face everyday
- childish pleasures are stress-relieving
- hugs fix hearts and minds
