Letters to my Ex

Just comments I've thought, and might get around to saying.

To my Ex:
Hey you.
You said we can't really continue, but not that we're done. So I say, we're done. You owe me a hug for waiting, so I will collect, but I think that then I will be moving on and not looking back. It is hard enough to find something to say to respond to your note; I've already moved on and have forgotten you somewhat. It just happened as we grew apart. Now it's awkward... and I have to figure out what to do or say when people ask me about you. So instead of explaining, I just answer them honestly and say we don't communicate much. When you get back, I can say we realized that it wasn't going to work. And everyone will understand, and be less pitying then. I don't want their pity. I want them to realize I'm growing up, and you are too, and we have other goals and dreams to follow in different directions. And while I appreciate all I have learned from you, and will miss how you made me feel, I still have to figure out how to give back all these hoodies without it being too awkward. Or what to do with my box of things from you...
